Diana Tash, mezzo-soprano

Mezzo-Soprano Diana Tash appears internationally in both operatic roles onstage and as a featured soloist. Most recent performances include performances with Maria Newman at the MAHMA concert series in Malibu California and upcoming performance at the Valley Beth Shalom concert series in Encino California. Previously this year, Ms Tash was the Mezzo soloist in Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the LA Dream Orchestra conducted by Mo. Daniel Suk in March 2016, a Recital with NY Philharmonic principal violist, Cynthia Phelps in March 2016, as well as a concert with the California String Quartet performing Jake Heggie’s resounding ‘Camille Claudel: Into the fire’ at The Boston Court in Pasadena, CA on May 28 2016.

Other performances include a recital with Principal violist of the NY Philharmonic, Cynthia Phelps at Musica Marin as well as Annina in La Traviata with the Pacific Symphony followed by a concert of the “Spirits of the Air” CD (LML Records) with late countertenor Brian Asawa in Guadalajara at the Festival de Mayo. Ms Tash toured with renowned composer Maria Newman, performing on a Southern Collegiate Tour in 2013, and also with pianist Armen Guzelimian in solo recitals for Santa Barbara Opera in December 2011 and at Carnegie Hall in 2008 as well as Los Angeles’s Zipper Hall in 2006, from which a live recording, “Diana Tash, In Recital” was released in 2009 with LML records. Past performances with the Santa Barbara Choral Society in Handel’s Messiah in 2012, in Sacramento Opera’s Orlando as Medoro in 2010 and in Long Beach Opera’s Medea in February of 2011.


Ms. Tash’s stage work has been hailed as “radiant” by the Los Angeles Times and “skillful” by the New York Times. Other solo work includes Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the LA Master Chorale at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Bernstein’s Jeremiah Symphony with the Akron Symphony in Ohio in 2009. Ms. Tash was a Resident Artist with the LA Opera Company from 1992 to 1996 singing with some of the major singers and conductors of our time. In a return to LA Opera in 2004 she sang Mercedes in Carmen with Mo. Placido Domingo, and has sung with both San Diego Opera and Opera Pacific in 2006 and again in 2008 in Mozart’s Magic Flute. She has performed at the Music Academy of the West, Aldeburgh Festival in England with Maestro Stuart Robinson and at the Aspen Festival with Maestro Lawrence Foster. Ms. Tash is a winner of the Western Regional Metropolitan Opera Finals.
